    An African village where each house is a work of art

    Far from being very popular with tourists, Burkina Faso is home to an extraordinary village on a hill overlooking the savannah. The residence of the chief, the royal court and the nobility of the Kassena people can be found on 1.2 hectares, with houses finely decorated, like works of art. The village is quite isolated from foreigners in order to protect it to ensure its integrity, conservation and traditions. The royal residence consists of a series of small mud brick structures inside a compound, covered with geometrically patterned natural clay paints, designed to differentiate them from the homes of ordinary people.
