    Blow of heart: paper lights by Jean-Luc Mare

    Inspired by Japan, these paper lights are both fragile and resistant. Playing with shadows and light, the juxtaposition of many sheets of paper creates different and aesthetic forms where each lighting is unique and takes its place in the decor. Originally an advertising graphic designer, Jean-Luc Mare uses paper as a raw material for his works. Inspired by strong Japanese influences, he created a series of luminaires from paper for printing and editing, packaging, tracing or techniques such as filtration. As and when his creativity, the artist bends, crumples, tears or heats the paper to capture and restore the properties of paper. So he plays elegantly with resistance, transparency, opacity…
